North American Academy is registered with the Department of Education of the State of Florida, Florida Private Schools Directory We are located in Miami-Dade County.
Our programs meet the requirements outlined by the state for high school level education. Our academic curriculum follows the common core standards and includes the recommended content of both the Sun Shine State Standards (SSS) and Competency Based Curriculum (CBC). The North American Academy high school programs offer all the required courses leading to the completion of a high school diploma. At the school's discretion any prior high school courses or credits completed by an incoming student may be transferred to North American Academy as do many other recognized schools across the nation.
North American Academy is a member school of the Association of Christian Teachers and Schools.
Note: The U.S. Department of Education does not have the authority to accredit private or public elementary or secondary schools. The Department does not recognize accrediting bodies for the accreditation of private or public elementary and secondary schools (K-12th). However, the U.S. Department of Education does recognize accrediting bodies for the accreditation of institutions of higher education (postsecondary, such as colleges and universities). If an accrediting body which is recognized by the Department for higher education also accredits elementary and secondary schools, the Department’s recognition applies ONLY to the agency’s accreditation of postsecondary institutions (colleges and universities not K-12th institutions).

The U.S. Department of Education does not recognize accrediting bodies for the accreditation of private or public elementary and secondary schools at the K-12 level. They only recognize accrediting agencies for institutions of higher learning such as colleges. The Florida Department of Education does not accredit, regulate, approve, or license private schools. Additionally, the Florida Department of Education does not officially recognize any of the various agencies that accredit private schools. The acceptance of diplomas from private schools will be subject to the requirements of the receiving educational institution or employer.
